As a Transport Planner you will be responsible for completing and overseeing the day-to-day planning function of the transport operation. A highly motivated and driven individual, you will be experienced at working in a quick and fast-paced environment and be able to deal with day-to-day challenges in providing an effective transport plan. Minimum of 1 years' experience of working within a transport or planning officeExcellent Telephone mannerThe ability to work under pressure and meet deadlinesGood UK Geographical KnowledgeHighly organised and adaptable to fast paced changing situationsHighly competent with PC literate - Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint and Transport IT/ web based systemsThe ability to work flexibly within a team and make changes to plans at short noticeStrong problem solving skillsCustomer focused at all times ensuring top quality service levelsProfessional in appearance and mannerKey Accountabilities: Ensure that all loads are planned to meet customer requirements by: Monitor personnel and/or equipment locations and utilization in order to coordinate service and schedulesRelay work orders, messages, and information to or from Warehouse and Transport teamsPlan the schedule to update the Warehouse, dispatch teams to ensure produce is moved appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications, or needs. Confer with customers or supervising personnel in order to address questions, problems, and requests for service or equipmentRecord and maintain files and records of customer requests, work or services performed, charges, expenses, inventory, and other dispatch informationPromptly answering telephone in a professional manner and dealing with field and customer enquiriesLiaise with Warehousing and Traffic teams to understand any unplanned issues and offer resolutions in planning to the management of loadsMaximise Load Fill for all outbound deliveriesMaximise Synergies between the Warehouse and Knowles groupsDetermine types or amounts of loads and vehicles required to build work ordersRE-booking of failuresConsolidate other customers work with movements external to WimblingtonWhat We Offer / Benefits: Free uniform & PPE provided.
