Responsibilities include:
- Regularly working to tight deadlines that may require additional hours during peak times such as Christmas and Easter.
- Holding a C+E UK Licence and up-to-date CPC Training.
- Having own transport and full UK driving licence.
- Liaising with the Transport desk regarding any potential difficulties or variations from the original brief.
- Driving the vehicle with utmost concern for other road users, pedestrians, and local environments.
- Ensuring punctual collection and delivery of all loads.
- Maintaining the safety of the vehicle and its load at all times and reporting any defects to the Traffic office/Workshop.
- Assisting with loading and unloading of the vehicle, using lifting equipment where authorised and trained.
- Being flexible in terms of starting and finishing times of shifts.
- Maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle while on duty and reporting any defects immediately.
- Undertaking any other tasks as reasonably requested by the Transport Operator.
- Maintaining trailer hygiene to the standards set by our customer.
- Responding to and dealing with both internal and external customer communication by email, telephone, and in person.
- Encouraging teamwork within the workplace.
- Maintaining standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security in the work environment.
- Covering local and national contracts.
