Job Type: Full-time, Permanent, 4 on 4 off and one for Monday to Friday

Purpose of the role: The Team Leader is responsible for overseeing a team of warehouse colleagues within a specific operational area (e.g., picking, packing, goods-in, replenishment, dispatch). Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Team Leader ensures that daily tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and accurately while maintaining high levels of colleague engagement and operational discipline. Fast-paced warehouse setting with shift-based work. May involve manual handling and prolonged periods of standing or walking. Occasional need to work additional hours during peak periods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership: Lead a team of warehouse operatives to deliver the shift plan and meet productivity and accuracy targets. Allocate work, monitor progress, and adjust resources to maintain workflow and service levels. Ensure all team members follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and site rules. Act as the first point of contact for operational issues within the area. Ensure client SLA's are monitored and met. Shop floor visibility. Onsite multi-user and third-party contract support.
  • People Management & Development: Support onboarding, training, and continuous skill development of team members. Provide regular feedback, coaching, and direction during the shift. Assist the Operations Manager in conducting performance reviews and managing attendance. Promote a positive and inclusive team environment. Managing Investigations and Disciplinaries. The ability to monitor and manage absence.
  • Health, Safety & Compliance: Ensure all tasks are carried out safely and all team members comply with H&S policies and legal requirements. Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and help identify and escalate hazards. Maintain high standards of housekeeping (5S) and ensure safe use of MHE and equipment. Safety Behaviour Audits. Near Miss reporting.
  • Quality & Performance Monitoring: Monitor team performance using KPIs such as pick accuracy, productivity, stock integrity, and scan compliance. Investigate minor errors, support root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions. Ensure adherence to quality standards and support reduction of defects or damages.
  • Communication & Coordination: Maintain clear communication with the Operations Manager and other Team Leaders to ensure shift continuity. Provide handover information at the end of each shift. Collaborate with supporting functions such as Inventory, Transport, and Planning.

About you:

Qualifications & Skills: Experience in a warehouse environment, ideally within the specific operational area. Strong communication and team leadership skills. Good understanding of warehouse processes and WMS systems. Ability to motivate and support colleagues. Awareness of health and safety requirements. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple demands. SAP experience desirable.
