About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Service Designer to join our Operations team as a Course Developer & Skills Coach for the Level 6 Service Designer apprenticeship programme. This role works closely with the Curriculum Innovation Manager, Digital Learning Team, and wider Operations function to design and deliver engaging apprenticeship learning experiences aligned to the ST0894 Service Designer standard. You will play an important role in shaping the learner journey from curriculum design through to delivery, coaching, and EPA preparation. This is an opportunity to help professionals develop the skills to design, prototype, and improve services that create meaningful impact for users and organisations alike. As part of a growing and evolving curriculum team, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of our programmes, digital learning experiences, and learner outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop curriculum content aligned to the Service Designer apprenticeship standard and EPA requirements
  • Deliver engaging workshops, coaching sessions, and group learning experiences
  • Support learners to apply service design principles within real workplace contexts
  • Collaborate with the Curriculum Innovation Manager and Digital Learning Team to create high-quality learning materials and assets
  • Monitor learner progress, conduct tripartite reviews, and support learners towards successful completion and EPA readiness
  • Contribute to standardisation, quality assurance, and continuous improvement activity across programmes
  • Build positive relationships with learners, employers, and colleagues across the organisation
  • Maintain accurate learner records and support compliance requirements

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

Essential

  • Occupational experience in service design, UX, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of user research, journey mapping, service blueprinting, prototyping, and systems thinking
  • Experience designing learning, curriculum, or training materials
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, or supporting professionals in development
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles
  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)

Desirable

  • Degree in service design, UX, design, or a related discipline
  • Teaching qualification such as AET, DET, or PGCE
  • Assessment or quality assurance qualification such as CAVA or IQA
  • Experience delivering apprenticeship standards
  • Experience using digital learning tools or platforms
