At KnowledgeBrief, we’ve been a leading force in management training and professional development for over 20 years. As we expand and evolve our apprenticeship provision, we’re looking for a Skills Coach to support learners on the Level 3 Team Leader and Level 5 Operations/Departmental Manager apprenticeships.
This role sits within our Apprenticeships Team and reports directly to the Team Leader, working closely with colleagues across Curriculum, Quality, Digital, and Operations. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who understands the realities of people management and loves helping emerging leaders build confidence, capability, and professional identity.
With upcoming changes in the sector, the successful postholder will also have opportunities to develop into other apprenticeship streams in the future, including Business Administration, Data Analyst, Project Management, AI Practitioner, and Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
- Support emerging leaders to develop core management skills
- Coach learners to build confidence in communication, problem‑solving, decision‑making, performance management, and team motivation
- Help learners apply leadership models and management tools to real workplace situations
- Encourage reflective practice and support learners to develop their own leadership style
- Deliver engaging online workshops and group learning
- Facilitate interactive online workshops using discussion, scenarios, and practical activities
- Create inclusive, psychologically safe learning environments
- Adapt delivery to suit learners from a wide range of industries and backgrounds
- Provide personalised coaching and structured learner support
- Build strong, supportive relationships through monthly one‑to‑one coaching
- Develop individual learning plans that integrate on‑the‑job and off‑the‑job learning
- Conduct regular tripartite reviews with learners and line managers
- Prepare learners for EPA through structured practice, feedback, and confidence‑building
- Monitor progress and ensure a high‑quality learner experience
- Track learner progress using internal systems and take timely action where needed
- Maintain accurate, same‑day records and ensure OTJ requirements are met
- Identify learners at risk of falling behind and implement tailored re‑engagement strategies
- Collaborate and contribute to continuous improvement
- Work closely with Curriculum, Digital, and Operations colleagues to ensure a seamless learner journey
- Participate in standardisation meetings and share insights to strengthen coaching practice
- Engage in ongoing professional development across leadership, coaching, and digital learning
Desired Experience & Qualifications
Essential- Experience delivering apprenticeship standards (ideally TL3 and/or ODM5) or professional development programmes
- Experience in people management, leadership development, coaching, or mentoring
- Strong understanding of first‑line management responsibilities (communication, performance management, problem‑solving, team leadership)
- Ability to coach and support adult learners from diverse professional backgrounds
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship‑building skills
- Minimum GCSE A*–C (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
- Teaching, assessing, or coaching qualification (AET, DET, CAVA, PGCE, ILM/EMCC/ICF coaching etc.)
- Experience using digital learning tools, e‑portfolios, or virtual learning environments
- Membership of a relevant professional body
