As we expand our apprenticeship provision, we’re recruiting a Course Developer & Skills Coach to shape and deliver our Artificial Intelligence & Automation Practitioner (ST1512) programme.
This is a unique opportunity to combine curriculum design, digital learning innovation, and one‑to‑one coaching to help learners become confident, capable AI & Automation Practitioners, particularly those working in workflow optimisation, low‑code automation, and AI‑enabled productivity.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of the Artificial Intelligence & Automation Practitioner (ST1512) curriculum, creating clear, accessible content that brings workflow mapping, automation opportunities, AI‑enabled tools, and responsible AI practice to life.
- Design, sequence and build high‑quality digital learning assets, case studies, and scenario‑based activities in collaboration with our Curriculum Innovation Manager and Digital Team.
- Facilitate online workshops and webinars that help learners apply AI and automation concepts to real organisational challenges, encouraging reflection, experimentation, and critical thinking.
- Provide personalised one‑to‑one coaching that builds confidence, motivation, and professional identity as AI & Automation Practitioners, including monthly coaching sessions and regular tripartite reviews.
- Support learners to prepare for end‑point assessment through structured practice, targeted feedback, and confidence‑building activities.
- Monitor learner progress using internal systems, taking timely action to keep learners on track and maintaining accurate, same‑day records.
- Identify learners at risk of falling behind and implement tailored re‑engagement strategies.
- Work closely with Curriculum, Digital, and Operations colleagues to deliver a seamless learner journey and contribute to continuous improvement across curriculum and coaching practice.
- Engage in ongoing professional development across AI, automation, coaching, and digital learning.
Experience & Qualifications
Essential
- Occupational competence in AI‑enabled productivity, automation, digital operations, workflow optimisation, or related fields.
- Experience designing and sequencing curriculum, training materials, or learning content.
- Experience coaching or mentoring professionals.
- Practical understanding of:
- Workflow mapping and process analysis
- Low‑code/no‑code automation tools (e.g., Power Automate, Zapier, Make)
- AI‑assisted tools (e.g., copilots, chatbots, summarisation tools)
- Data quality and process maturity
- Responsible and ethical AI use
- Change management and user adoption
Desirable, but not essential
- Certifications in Power Platform, UiPath, Automation Anywhere, or similar tools.
- Short courses in AI fundamentals, data literacy, or digital transformation.
- Degree in Computing, Digital Technologies, Business Information Systems, or related discipline.
- Teaching qualification (AET, DET, PGCE) or professional body membership.
- Experience delivering apprenticeships or professional development programmes.
- Experience with digital learning tools or virtual learning environments.
- Sector experience in a relevant digital, automation, or transformation environment.
