Apprenticeship Assessor - Role Overview
As an Assessor , youll be an instrumental part of the learning journey for our apprentices, supporting with marking and assessing their assignments for our courses. Ideal candidates will have experience assessing across Leadership & Management and Project Management competencies, however experience assessing on People Professional, Coaching Professional, Data Analyst and Business Adminstration courses is a bonus!
Reporting to the Assessment Team Leader, the successful candidate will focus on marking learner assignments and providing thorough and individualised written feedback. This role requires a unique blend of assessment skills, commitment, and the ability to offer supportive feedback to ensure learners complete their learning journeys with the strongest possible portfolio of evidence for the final assessment. This presents a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to our challenging and ambitious agenda for the future. You will be given the trust to manage your own workload and productivity, with ideal completion efficiencies of 12 Insights per hour and 5-6 pieces of work-place-evidence per hour.

Apprenticeship Assessor - Key Responsibilities
- Mark CPD (continuous professional development) and WPE (workplace evidence) submissions to create high-quality End Point Assessment portfolios for some or all of our apprenticeship streams.
- Mark and provide comprehensive feedback on Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Leadership and Management assignments and study units, primarily at Levels 3 and 5 (and potentially Level 7 depending on experience) together with the L5 Coaching Award (CMI).
- Manage the communication of results to learners and their Skills Coaches.
- Provide constructive and individualised feedback to learners on strengths and development areas.
- Occasionally work with learners on key development areas, including KB Insights, study skills, and/or assignment briefs.
- Collaborate with other areas of the business to enhance the overall learner experience.
- Contribute to the CMI End Point Assessment (EPA) upload process by requesting live assessment dates (LAD) for learners.
- Understand learner needs and manage the delivery or creation of sessions to ensure comprehension of workplace evidence, study units, and assignment requirements.
- Develop and manage the internal verification (IV) process.
- Participate in standardisation sessions.
- Knowledge and understanding of apprenticeship programme regulations and compliance.
- Experience providing detailed, supportive, and individualised feedback to learners, enabling them to develop their responses to the highest standards.
- Experience marking assignments up to Level 5 (essential) and Level 7 (ideal).
- Willingness to undertake a Leadership and Management qualification (if not already achieved).
- Excellent communication skills to engage learners in formal assignment writing, particularly those who may not have engaged in formal education for many years.
- Knowledge and understanding of the EPA upload process.

- Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritise tasks under pressure.
- Experience in leadership and management, coaching, and project management enabling feedback to include real-life examples and observations.
- A1 Assessor qualification or equivalent.
- Chartered Manager accreditation.
- IQA qualification.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality.
- Ability to manage own workload.
