KHR is working with a growing and well-established engineering and manufacturing business to recruit an experienced technical Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary engineering function. The role will focus on leading and developing the engineering team, overseeing NPI/NPD projects from concept through to design and manufacturing, while also improving engineering processes. The successful candidate will be hands-on, commercially minded and comfortable working across multiple areas of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams across different areas of engineering.
- Manage recruitment, appraisals, performance, coaching and ongoing development of engineers.
- Oversee NPI/NPD from concept/design through to manufacturing.
- Manage multidisciplinary engineering projects, ensuring technical, quality, cost and delivery requirements are met.
- Improve engineering processes, governance, documentation and ways of working.
- Work closely with Manufacturing and Production to support successful product development and industrialisation.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership, problem-solving and engineering decision-making.
- Support engineering strategy, innovation, resource planning and continuous improvement.
- Oversee engineering resources and priorities, ensuring teams are effectively allocated across multiple projects and business requirements.
- Identify and manage technical risks, supporting design reviews, technical trade-offs and ensuring engineering solutions meet standards.
