KHR Recruitment Specialists are working with a bespoke manufacturing business based in rural Maidstone, who are looking for a practical and hands-on individual to join their close-knit team.
This is a varied role combining workshop production, assembly, finishing, warehouse duties and customer-site installations.
The successful candidate will work with timber and other materials to manufacture and assemble bespoke products, as well as helping with deliveries, installations and maintenance work.
This would suit someone who enjoys practical work and has previous hands-on experience in carpentry, woodworking, property maintenance, joinery, construction, installations, DIY or a similar environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and cutting timber and other materials to size
- Using hand and power tools to manufacture and assemble products
- Creating basic joints and assembling timber frameworks
- Sanding, staining and finishing wooden components
- Pre-assembling bespoke products within the workshop
- Packing and preparing products for transportation
- Loading and unloading materials and equipment
- Supporting stock control and warehouse operations
- Delivering products and materials to customer sites
- Installing bespoke structures at customer locations
- Carrying out repairs and maintenance when required
- Supporting general production and workshop projects
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
- Using a forklift where required (training can be provided)
About You
- Previous practical, hands-on experience is essential
- Experience working with wood, timber, carpentry, joinery, construction or xgikmsk maintenance would be highly beneficial
- Comfortable using hand and power tools
- Practical, reliable and willing to get stuck in
- Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
- Physically fit and comfortable with lifting, carrying and manual work
- Happy working both indoors in a workshop and outdoors/on customer sites
- Comfortable travelling to different locations for installations
- Full UK driving licence essential due to the rural location and site visits
