Primarily Remote | Occasional Travel to Peterborough. Our client is currently supporting a major infrastructure transformation programme for a leading client, and as the project continues to expand, they’re looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join the team.

This is an opportunity to work across a large-scale enterprise environment, combining hands‑on operational support with involvement in critical infrastructure and platform delivery projects. The successful candidate will be comfortable working across both Windows and VMware technologies, with strong troubleshooting capability and experience supporting complex environments in a highly structured operational setting.

The Role

You’ll join an established infrastructure team responsible for supporting and evolving a large-scale enterprise platform through multiple project phases. The role combines BAU operational support with project-based engineering work, giving you exposure to infrastructure deployments, systems administration, patching, automation and performance optimisation across a broad technical estate.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Deploying and configuring servers, storage, services and supporting infrastructure
  • Monitoring system performance, availability and security across enterprise environments
  • Managing patching, firmware updates and infrastructure maintenance activities
  • Supporting backup operations and integrity checking processes
  • Assisting with troubleshooting, capacity planning and performance optimisation
  • Maintaining datacentre systems and supporting virtualised environments
  • Supporting workload automation and operational improvement initiatives
  • Working within established Change Management and ITIL-aligned processes
  • Providing support to customers and end users where required
