Overview:
This position is with a 65-year-old company that is currently going through a rapid growth phase due to the diversification of their business. Of the 500 employees they currently have, they boast that 60 of those current employees have worked for the company for at least 30 years and they pride themselves on a team-oriented atmosphere. This person will work within a small engineering team and will be mostly doing work oriented toward day-to-day production, process and continuous improvement – this could be in the areas of process, quality, process control, etc. This person will also learn some of the regulatory permitting work and eventually handle that aspect of the facility as well. Minimal travel associated with this role.
Minimum Requirements:
- B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering
- 5+ years of industry experience, ideally out of specialty chemicals or something closely related to that (PSM-regulated plants)
- Previous experience with lean manufacturing (six-sigma, 5S) is highly preferred
- Having a background in process control would be a big plus, not a requirement
- Previous experience with air permitting and regulatory standards is a plus
- Need to be the type of person who likes to do a variety of work (wear different hats) as well as someone who works well with other people on a team
