A well-established, family-owned engineering business in Leeds is seeking an experienced Mechanical/Electrical Fitter to join its Operations team. The organisation is a leading manufacturer and supplier of electrical power distribution equipment, known for developing innovative, energy-efficient solutions that support global efforts to reduce energy wastage.
The Role
- Carry out fitting and assembly work on a range of distribution and power transformers.
- Review assembly instructions, blueprint specifications and parts lists to prepare and organise parts, subassemblies, tools and materials.
- Assemble components by verifying correct fit, fastening parts and completing subassemblies as required.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and product quality, ensuring products are manufactured and delivered on time and in full to customer requirements.
- Complete all paperwork associated with the works order accurately and efficiently.
- Perform general housekeeping duties within the work area and promptly report any problems, shortages or equipment issues.
- Use general workshop machinery and hand tools relevant to the fitting role.
- Conduct quality inspections on work produced by colleagues.
