Responsibilities of the Litigation Solicitor:
- Lead and manage a caseload of litigated debt recovery matters from initial instruction through to final resolution. Ensure all cases progress efficiently and in line with client expectations and court deadlines, with strategic delegation and oversight of paralegal support to maintain high standards of service delivery.
- Oversee the drafting and finalization of legal pleadings, witness statements, and correspondence. Exercise sound judgement in determining case strategy, including settlement negotiations, enforcement actions, and escalation to trial, ensuring alignment with client objectives and legal best practices.
- Provide day-to-day supervision, mentoring, and performance auditing of paralegal staff. Implement quality control measures to ensure accuracy, compliance, and consistency in case handling and documentation, fostering a collaborative and accountable team environment.
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on case law, procedural rules, and statutory developments relevant to debt recovery and litigation. Ensure the legal team remains informed and compliant with current legislation and regulatory changes, contributing to risk mitigation and strategic planning.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships by delivering tailored legal advice, managing expectations, and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement within the Case Management System. Contribute ideas and feedback to enhance system functionality, streamline workflows, and improve data integrity, supporting continuous operational improvement.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Qualified Solicitor authorized to conduct litigation in England and Wales.
- Minimum of one year experience in civil litigation, with a strong preference for experience in debt recovery.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced legal environment, demonstrating exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands and meet tight deadlines.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules, with practical application in day-to-day casework.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and case management systems, with a tech-savvy approach to legal practice.
Desirable:
- Three or more years’ experience in civil litigation, ideally with a focus on debt recovery and enforcement proceedings.
- Advocacy experience, including representation at hearings or case management conferences.
- A demonstrable commitment to career progression within the legal profession, with a proactive approach to professional development and continuous learning.
- Demonstrated experience in supervising and collaborating with paralegals and legal administrators, fostering a supportive and efficient working environment. Salary: £50,000
Hybrid working pattern, minimal requirement to work in the office. 37.5 hour working week.
