We are looking for an experienced Internal Logistics Supervisor to lead our Materials Handling team and ensure the efficient supply of raw materials, transformers, and equipment to our internal manufacturing operations.
This is a hands-on supervisory role where you'll work closely with logistics, planning, suppliers, and production teams to ensure materials are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time, enabling uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Materials Handling team to achieve targets relating to efficiency, quality, safety, and cost.
- Coordinate daily logistics and transportation activities.
- Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure the timely delivery of materials.
- Track deliveries and resolve any delivery-related issues.
- Work closely with the Planning and Logistics teams to develop effective internal logistics solutions, including goods receiving, kitting, issuing, and line-side delivery, ensuring manufacturing areas experience zero material shortages.
- Ensure the ERP system accurately reflects all transformer movements and locations.
- Liaise with the Logistics team to manage the safe movement and availability of transformers through effective planning.
- Monitor Overall Operative Effectiveness (OOE), efficiency, and team performance, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote a right-first-time culture while maintaining a safe and organised working environment.
- Support, mentor, and develop the Material Controllers to maximise team performance.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
The successful candidate will have
- Previous experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or supply chain management.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- High levels of IT and data management competency, including experience with ERP and planning/management systems.
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong planning and organisational abilities.
- A customer-focused approach with the ability to deliver efficient, practical solutions.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, support, and manage teams within a fast-moving, project-driven manufacturing environment.
