An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Test Engineer to join an established family-owned business in Leeds. Our client is a leading manufacturer and supplier of electrical power distribution equipment.

The Role: Reporting to the Senior Testing Engineer; key responsibilities will be testing, repair and troubleshooting across the range of company products both in-house and on site.

  • In-house testing of transformers/marshalling enclosures/control panels
  • Testing of LV cabinets and control devices
  • Complete protection modifications

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ testing experience within an electrical engineering company
  • Experience of testing and commissioning transformers is essential.
  • Holding electrical qualifications and having knowledge of electrical regulations is essential
  • The ability to understand electrical schematic drawings is essential
  • Clear understanding of Health & Safety & Risk Assessment policies and responsibility
  • Have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience of working collaboratively with other operations personnel
  • Ideally experience of working within a continuous improvement environment
  • Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach
  • Good communication skills
  • Flexibility to assist in other departments when required
