VP of Business Operations will serve as a key member of the leadership team, responsible for the internal execution of the strategy and the running of the day to day business.

This will involve overseeing commercial decisions and leading the optimization of business performance.

This role bridges finance and business operations, ensuring that commercial decisions, processes, and resource allocations are grounded in strong commercial insight.

The role will report to the Managing Director.

The role will oversee the company’s day to day central and business functions to ensure that they are efficient and align with the MD’s vision and company’s strategy.

The focus will be on internal operations, strategy implementation and improving processes, to enable the MD to focus on growth and the launch of new products.

In addition, the role will have a line of accountability into the CFO at Newmark, for commercials, cost and transformation projects.

Responsibilities

  • Support the MD to deliver the strategy through turning visions into practical and actionable plans
  • Partner with the Delivery Teams and Core Business - for the day to day execution of the product. Partnering the business to resolve delivery challenges as required.
  • Guide the implementation of cross functional processes to drive productivity across the business; with a focus on the management of operational risk and driving efficiency
  • Lead the review of financial and commercial proposals on behalf of Newmark, in line with the delegated approvals as provided and approved by the CFO.
  • Oversee the build and implementation of pricing tools and resulting analysis. Guiding the business to build models to support the delivery of the pricing strategy
  • Oversee cost optimisation for the business and supplier management.
  • Lead the procurement strategy for the organisation
  • Review supplier contracts, service agreements, investment decisions and procurement (alongside business leaders) to ensure commercial value
  • Lead delivery of programmes on behalf of Newmark & Knotel, as required
  • Knotel systems strategy lead: working with Newmark’s technology team to communicate requirements, and ensure the solutions will support the delivery of the business strategy
  • Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and margin enhancement.

This will include overseeing the provision of information to support product development and sales performance analysis

  • Oversee facilities-related financial decisions, including maintenance budgets, capital expenditures, and lease commitments (alongside business leaders)
  • Lead employees to maximise their performance and establish policies that promote the company's culture and vision
  • Oversee people/role changes & hiring; to support the business with hiring once the initial approval has been received from the MD.

Skills & Experience

  • Senior operational leadership experience ; Proven experience running the day-to-day operations of a multi-site or service-based business and/or Experience acting as the operational lead for a leadership team or Board.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • Demonstrated responsibility for P&L management, budgeting and business performance metrics.
  • Experienced in partnering closely with finance and executive stakeholders.
  • Experience leading large, cross-functional teams.
  • Proven track record of translating executive strategy into operational plans and measurable outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience scaling operational teams during periods of growth.
  • Knowledge of workspace technology platforms and CRM systems.
