JOB DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE: The Finance Manager will play a key role in fulfilling the accounting operations within the finance department and will assist with special projects across the UK as required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting for the Knotel UK Group (20 trading companies)
- Support and develop 3 Management Accountants
- Support the UK Accounts Payable team with invoice and credit memo processing, payments and accruals
- Support with sales invoice processing, revenue reconciliations, bad debt provisions and customer service management
- Overseeing the fixed assets management and attending the year end stock take
- Manage month end deliverables to ensure timely reporting into Newmark US
- Manage month end for the team, ensuring that journals are reviewed and accurate ahead of posting
- Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and adhere to tight deadlines to ensure completeness, in-line with Newmark US timetable
- Preparation of month end reporting pack with detailed commentary
- Assist with Business Rates processing and liaise with our Commercial Real Estate Partners
- Manage and plan to ensure maximum Empty Property Relief is able to be claimed
- Liaise with European Lease Administration Team for Landlord Payments and assist with Building requirements
- Oversee property related accounting (completion statements, lease incentives, stamp duty, deposits, LL contributions etc)
- Review monthly CIS returns
- Manage the quarterly VAT returns and co-ordinate with Cantor VAT team to identify automation opportunities
- Provide reporting for various tax submissions - quarterly VAT returns, payroll related taxes
- Maintaining financial reports, records, and General Ledger accounts
- Manage audit deliverables and relationship with our auditors
- Provide responses to audit requests
- Prepare the Statutory Trial Balance with a full audit trail from the Oracle source records, including review of all statutory and audit journals
- Support the Leadership team with operational and financial requirements
- Create and distribute accurate internal reports / project summaries to various stakeholders across the organisation, as required
- Identify and drive process improvement projects across finance
- Other duties and ad-hoc projects as assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Progressive accounting experience
- Experience working in large multinational businesses across multiple geographical entities preferred
- Experience working in a multi-function shared services and/or offshore environment a plus
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Advanced knowledge of UK GAAP required
- Basic knowledge of US GAAP preferred
- Strong knowledge of commercial real estate preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills as well as impeccable attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, multi-task and handle several deadlines simultaneously
- Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Advanced excel skills, required
- Experience with Oracle, Coupa, and FloQast a plus
