Role Overview
MillerKnoll is looking for an ambitious Bid Writer to join our International Bids & Proposals team. This role is ideal for someone who is developing their career in bids & proposals and wants to work across international markets, sectors and sales teams. Working as part of a collaborative international team, you will help create clear, compliant and compelling written responses for tenders, RFPs, RFIs and other opportunities. You will support the development of high-quality proposal content that explains MillerKnoll's workplace solutions, design expertise, sustainability credentials and value proposition in a way that is specific to each client and easy for evaluators to score. The role combines strong writing, careful attention to detail, stakeholder engagement and smart use of approved content and AI-assisted drafting tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft clear, persuasive and compliant bid responses, tailoring answers to the client’s requirements, evaluation criteria and commercial priorities.
- Review tender questions to identify explicit and implied requirements, helping to structure responses before drafting begins.
- Work with the Proposal Manager, Bid Designers, sales teams, and subject matter experts to gather the right information, evidence, case studies and proof points.
- Use approved proposal content, Qvidian library and AI tools responsibly, ensuring all content is checked, accurate and relevant before submission.
- Edit and improve draft material so it is concise, client-specific, well-structured and written in plain English.
- Support the development of executive summaries, capability statements, clarification responses, presentation content and reusable bid library material.
- Manage your own writing deadlines across multiple opportunities, escalating risks early and keeping stakeholders informed.
- Collaborate with colleagues across Europe and international regions, adapting content for different markets, cultures and client expectations.
About You
You have experience in bid writing, proposal writing, marketing, communications, copywriting or another role involving structured business writing. You are highly organised, comfortable working to deadlines and able to manage competing priorities. You have strong attention to detail and take pride in accuracy, consistency and presentation. You are confident asking questions, interviewing colleagues and drawing out the information needed to strengthen a response.
Skills and Experience
- Strong written English, with the ability to write in a professional, persuasive, and client-focused style.
- Experience contributing to bids, proposals, tenders, sales documents or formal client submissions is desirable.
- Good understanding of how to interpret client requirements and respond to evaluation criteria.
- Ability to edit content for clarity, flow, tone, grammar and consistency.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools, particularly Word and PowerPoint; experience with Qvidian and/or Salesforce would be an advantage.
- Awareness of APMP best practice, bid lifecycle principles or structured proposal development would be beneficial.
- Additional European languages would be useful but are not essential.
