We\’re hiring a Junior Graphic Designer

Join the Team at Scotland\’s National Motorsport Centre!

We are looking for a Junior Graphic Designer with a flair for creating a striking design to join the team here at Knockhill Racing Circuit.

You will work alongside our friendly marketing team to create visually engaging and effective marketing and design materials that promote our vast array of Motorsport and Experience Day products.

The role can vary from creating a series of designs for a Raceday event programme, nipping out the office to capture a Ferrari blasting round the racing circuit, creating engaging social media content, or collaborating on a Christmas gift campaign.

This role will allow you work on a variety of projects, including marketing materials, social media content, and branding assets, while developing your skills and gaining experience. Your input will help shape the marketing strategy at Scotland\’s National Motorsport Centre. The exciting range of activities we have on offer means no two days are the same!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce attractive and effective designs for marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, posters, vehicle graphics, circuit signage, social media graphics, infographics, email templates, and adverts.
  • Assist in the creation of high-quality digital marketing campaigns that stand out from the crowd, including website graphics, online ads, and multimedia content for our social media channels.
  • Support the team to make improvements to the website, with captivating design on landing pages that drive traffic and bookings.
  • Co-create and publish social media content across all platforms.
  • Contribute to brainstorming sessions and bring fresh design ideas to campaigns.
  • Research the customer trends and marketing results using analytic tools to track effective design content.

Skills required

  • Ability to create visually appealing and effective designs for various marketing channels which are consistent to the Knockhill brand and feel familiar but fresh and exciting for our customers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, combined with attention to detail, and a good eye for layout, colour, and overall design quality.
  • Proficient in design software, including Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) and email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp.
  • A foundational understanding of B2C marketing, with the ability to create visually compelling designs that effectively engage our customer database.
  • Developing understanding of branding, with the ability to apply brand guidelines appropriately for different audiences, markets, and design trends.
  • Knowledge of online user experience to support website development and improvements.
  • The ability to meet deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
  • Experience of working as part of a team.
  • The ability to see projects through from inception to production with good organisational skills that support the rest of the team.
  • The willingness to listen to feedback and use it to improve.

Education / Formal Qualifications

  • A degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field is preferred. Alternatively, in the absence of formal qualifications, relevant working experience, a strong portfolio, or professional design certifications demonstrating practical design skills will also be considered for the right person.

Some weekend working involved to cover the event day rota, planned in advance.

Salary Β£26,500 – Β£28,000 depending on experience.
