A well established main contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering complex commercial cut & carve projects across Central London is looking to appoint an experienced Design Manager with a strong structural engineering background to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Design Manager looking to work on high profile commercial schemes involving major structural alterations, heavy refurbishment and high-specification projects within challenging city centre environments.

You will play a key role in managing and coordinating the design process from pre-construction through to project completion across multiple commercial projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and coordinating the full design process across multiple commercial schemes
  • Reviewing structural, architectural and consultant design information
  • Leading consultant coordination meetings and driving design team performance
  • Identifying and resolving buildability, sequencing and technical challenges
  • Managing design programmes and information release schedules
  • Liaising closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and site teams
  • Ensuring compliance with current UK Building Regulations and statutory requirements

This role would suit an established Design Manager from a main contractor background with previous experience delivering commercial cut & carve / refurbishment projects, alongside a strong understanding of structural engineering and complex structural interventions.
