Our client, a busy and established London residential developer, is seeking a detail-driven Construction Quality & Gateway Records Inspector. This newly created role will strengthen quality assurance across the build lifecycle and ensure full compliance with the Building Safety Act and Gateway 3 requirements.
The Role
- Inspecting materials, workmanship, compliance with drawings/specifications, building regulations, and company quality standards.
- Verifying QA and Gateway 3 documentation from subcontractors and site teams, ensuring all golden thread information is complete, accurate, and audit-ready.
- Auditing QA records and BSR documentation at key milestones.
- Supporting project teams in establishing and monitoring the Quality Plan.
- Monitoring material quality and reviewing contractor workmanship and safety compliance.
- Identifying and recording non-conformances and coordinating corrective actions.
- Ensuring all required inspections and testing are completed and documented.
- Collaborating with Site and Technical Managers to resolve quality issues.
- Attending monthly Building Safety Act duty holder meetings and presenting findings.
- Signing off build stage "hold points" for BSR data collection.
- Ensuring compliance with Mandatory Occurrence, Change Control, Fire Emergency and Construction Control Plans.
About You
- 3-5 years' experience in QA/QC or site inspection within residential construction.
- Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Building Inspection or similar.
- Able to interpret architectural, structural and MEP drawings.
- Knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022, Gateway processes and golden thread principles.
- Experience with document control and systems such as Asite, Viewpoint or BIM 360.
- ISO 9001 or Building Inspector certifications beneficial.
