Our client, a small boutique accountancy practice based in Farringdon (Central London) with a team of 10+ staff, is looking to recruit a Semi Senior Accountant to join their growing firm. This is a great opportunity for an ACCA or ACA part‑qualified candidate with strong practice experience and good personal tax knowledge to develop within a modern, tech‑driven environment. The firm places a strong emphasis on technology and efficiency, using AI and automation tools to streamline workflows, so strong IT skills and a proactive mindset are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of statutory accounts for limited companies in line with FRS102 / UK GAAP
  • Preparation of corporation tax returns (CT600) and supporting computations
  • Preparation of personal tax returns (self‑assessment)
  • Bookkeeping duties using cloud accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
  • Processing payroll and handling related compliance
  • Assisting with management accounts preparation
  • Liaising with clients to gather information and provide support
  • Ensuring compliance with HMRC and Companies House deadlines
  • Supporting senior staff and directors with client portfolios

Requirements

  • ACCA or ACA part‑qualified
  • Minimum 3–4 years’ experience within an accountancy practice
  • Strong knowledge of personal tax, corporation tax, and accounts preparation
  • Experience preparing CT600s and statutory accounts
  • Bookkeeping and payroll experience
  • Strong IT skills and confidence working with cloud software and AI tools
  • Experience with Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar systems
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, tech‑driven environment
