Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Accountant who is keen to develop their career and progress towards a Client Manager position. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious practice professional seeking greater responsibility, increased client exposure and a clear pathway for progression.

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting a portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients, providing high-quality accounting, tax and advisory services. Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders.
  • Producing management accounts and financial reports.
  • Preparing and reviewing VAT returns.
  • Assisting with corporation tax and personal tax compliance.
  • Supporting clients with cloud accounting software including Xero.
  • Assisting with client onboarding and cloud accounting system implementations.
  • Building strong relationships with clients and acting as a key point of contact.
  • Responding to client queries and providing day-to-day support.
  • Supporting Directors and senior team members with advisory assignments and projects.

As the role develops, you will take on increasing responsibility for managing your own portfolio of clients and becoming a trusted adviser to business owners.

To be considered, you should have:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience working within a UK accountancy practice.
  • Experience preparing statutory accounts for limited companies.
  • Experience producing management accounts and VAT returns.
  • Strong working knowledge of cloud accounting software such as Xero.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently.

The following would be advantageous:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified, part-qualified or actively studying.
  • Xero certification.
  • Experience using IRIS or similar accountancy practice software.

Most importantly, you will enjoy working closely with clients and helping businesses achieve their goals.
