Knightwell Recruitment is working with an established and growing accountancy practice in Dorchester that is looking to appoint an experienced Accounts & Tax Senior.
This is a varied role offering a good mix of accounts preparation, tax and client-facing work, with plenty of autonomy over your own portfolio and workload.
The role will include:
- Preparing year-end accounts for Limited Companies, Sole Traders and Partnerships
- Preparing personal and corporation tax returns and calculations
- Reviewing client books and records
- Preparing accounts working papers and supporting schedules
- Liaising directly with clients and resolving queries
- Liaising with HMRC where required
- Managing your own portfolio, workload and deadlines
- Supporting clients with tax queries and planning opportunities
- Assisting with more complex accounts and tax work where required
What we're looking for:
- Minimum 2 years' experience within a UK accountancy practice
- Experience preparing year-end accounts and/or tax returns
- Comfortable dealing directly with clients
- ACA, ACCA, AAT or ATT qualified/part-qualified would be advantageous, but formal
- qualifications are not essential
- Experience with VT Final Accounts would be beneficial

- Salary up to £35,000, depending on experience

The hybrid pattern includes office attendance on Mondays and Fridays, plus two Wednesdays per month, with home working available on the remaining days.
