We’re working with a modern and growing accountancy practice in Farringdon that is looking to hire a Semi Senior Accountant to join their team. The firm has a collaborative UK team supported by an overseas function and embraces technology, automation, and AI-driven systems to deliver efficient services to a broad SME client base. This is a great opportunity for a Part-Qualified ACCA / ACA accountant with 2–3 years’ practice experience who is looking to develop technically and progress within a forward-thinking firm.
The Role
- You’ll work across a varied portfolio of clients, gaining exposure to accounts, VAT, payroll, and tax work while being supported by experienced seniors and managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of year-end accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
- Preparing VAT returns across various schemes
- Payroll processing and payroll journals
- Bookkeeping, bank reconciliations and control accounts
- Supporting corporation tax and personal tax computations
- Liaising with clients to resolve queries and obtain records
- Working closely with senior team members to meet deadlines
- Using cloud accounting software and AI tools to improve efficiency
Requirements
- ACCA or ACA Part-Qualified
- 2–3 years’ experience within a UK accountancy practice
- Experience preparing year-end accounts
- Good understanding of VAT and payroll
- Solid understanding of Personal Tax
