Full-Time | Permanent | Office-Based (5 Days Onsite)

A modern and growing Accountancy Practice based in Cardiff is looking to recruit an experienced Bookkeeper to join their team. This opportunity would suit an AAT Qualified candidate or an experienced Practice Bookkeeper with strong Xero experience looking to join a supportive and forward-thinking firm.

The successful candidate will support senior accountants with bookkeeping, VAT returns and management accounts preparation across a varied portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients.

The Role

  • Bookkeeping for a portfolio of SME clients
  • Preparing VAT returns for MTD and non-MTD clients
  • Assisting with management accounts preparation
  • Bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records
  • Liaising with clients regarding accounting queries via phone, email and face-to-face meetings
  • Supporting payroll processing when required
  • Assisting with basic company secretarial duties
  • Supporting clients with Xero and cloud accounting software
  • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and confidentiality procedures

About You

  • Minimum 2 years’ UK Accountancy Practice experience
  • Experience preparing VAT returns
  • AAT qualification or equivalent experience
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Confident and professional client-facing approach
  • Company secretarial exposure
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
