An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll Administrator to join a growing and professional accountancy practice in Biggleswade.

This role is ideal for a payroll professional with experience working within an accounting firm environment, managing multiple client payrolls and delivering a high-quality service to a diverse client portfolio.

The successful candidate will play a key role within the payroll team, ensuring payrolls are processed accurately, efficiently and in line with current legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and process a portfolio of client payrolls from start to finish.
  • Process weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly and monthly payrolls.
  • Ensure payrolls are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
  • Process starters, leavers, statutory payments and pension contributions.
  • Submit RTI filings to HMRC.
  • Respond to payroll-related queries from clients in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data.
  • Keep up to date with payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Liaise with HMRC, pension providers and other third parties where required.
  • Support the wider team with payroll administration and client service activities.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years' experience working within an Accountancy Practice.
  • Experience managing payrolls for multiple clients.
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and processes.
  • Experience using BrightPay is essential.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Qualifications

The following will be considered:

  • AAT Qualified or Studying
  • CIPP Qualified or Studying
  • Qualified by Experience (QBE)

Requirements

  • Full right to work in the UK.
  • Ability to work on-site in Biggleswade five days per week.
