Management Accountant / Bookkeeper req in Holland Park, Central London
Hybrid – 3 days private family office / 2 days remote
£45,000–£60,000 per annum, DOE
A prestigious private Family Office is looking to appoint an experienced Management Accountant/ Bookkeeper to join its small and highly trusted private office.
The successful candidate will provide hands‑on financial support to a business associated with one of the principals. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys working in a close‑knit environment and is comfortable taking ownership of day-to-day accounting responsibilities.
The role will suit an experienced Senior Bookkeeper or Management Accountant with strong technical bookkeeping skills, sound commercial awareness and a high degree of professionalism and discretion.
Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of the day-to‑day bookkeeping for three entities.
- Accurately record and process approximately 100–200 financial transactions each month.
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations and manage payment processes.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
- Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns, ensuring full compliance with Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements.
- Support the CFO with additional accounting, reporting and finance-related projects as required.
- Maintain high standards of financial accuracy, organisation and confidentiality across all areas of the role.
We are seeking an experienced finance professional who can work confidently and independently within a small private office environment.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience in a Bookkeeper, Management Accountant or similar finance position.
- Experience working within a Family Office or similarly private and confidential environment would be advantageous.
- Strong bookkeeping experience and a proven ability to manage accounts independently.
- Practical experience preparing monthly management accounts.
- Experience with VAT marginal relief.
- Strong working knowledge of Xero – essential.
- AAT, ACCA or equivalent qualification would be desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to financial administration.
- A professional, reliable and discreet manner, with the highest standards of confidentiality.
- The ability to manage priorities effectively and work autonomously while supporting senior stakeholders when required.
