We are currently recruiting a Mechanical & Electrical Assembler / Mechanical Fitter / Assembly Technician for a growing manufacturer of machinery and automotive components based in Rutland. This is a hands-on role assembling bespoke engineered parts, working across mechanical assembly, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble machinery components using hand tools and power tools
  • Work from engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Build and fit mechanical assemblies including hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Carry out commissioning, testing, and fault finding on completed products
  • Ensure all work meets required quality and production standards
  • Support general workshop and manufacturing operations

Required Experience

  • Experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Assembly Technician, or Mechanical Assembler
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Strong practical experience using hand and power tools
  • Background in mechanical assembly or manufacturing environments
  • High attention to detail and accuracy

Desirable Experience

  • Basic electrical assembly or wiring experience
  • Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics systems
  • Forklift Truck (FLT) licence or previous FLT experience
