Responsibilities
- Developing and managing construction programmes that are realistic, contractually compliant, and reflect how work actually happens on site.
- Producing and maintaining NEC3/NEC4 programmes for submission and acceptance, and updating them in line with the contract.
- Monitoring progress on site, identifying delays, and working with the site management team to implement mitigation strategies.
- Reviewing compensation events and variations, and producing robust evidence to support contractual claims.
- Supporting commercial teams with programme related input into cost and resource planning.
- Keeping everyone informed from site teams to clients, with clear progress updates and honest forecasts.
- Developing tender programmes and supporting the preconstruction team with competitive tenders.
- Working across our projects in Scotland and sites across the UK, building strong relationships with stakeholders and operational teams.
- Supporting junior planners and contributing to a collaborative, forward-thinking planning team.
Requirements
- Relevant experience as a Planner is preferred but not essential, ideally a background in engineering or site/project management.
- Good understanding of contracts is desirable.
- Experience using ASTA Powerproject is desirable but not essential.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Experience in a range of civil engineering projects is desirable.
Role will be based in Scotland blended with project visits across the UK. Although this role is within our Scottish team, we have projects and offices across the UK, including offices in Norwich and Bridgend, there is potential for flexibility in candidate location.
