We’re excited to offer an exceptional opportunity for a Design Manager to join one of the UK’s fastest‑growing contractors. Based in Bridgend, South Wales, this role offers the chance to work in a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and supportive environment with clear career progression and proactive employee engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Pre‑Construction team to lead the design and delivery of major infrastructure projects within the Wales Region.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs across Civil, Structural, MEPICA, Health and Safety, Sustainability, Environmental, and Planning teams to develop integrated and innovative solutions.
  • Drive the technical delivery of infrastructure projects, leading multidisciplinary technical teams to create value‑driven solutions that address client challenges across the entire design lifecycle.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to secure buy‑in for proposed solutions, fostering collaboration between internal teams, clients, and supply chain partners to deliver buildable and high‑quality technical outcomes.

Essential

  • Experience of all aspects civil engineering projects from either design or contracting background.
  • A degree or equivalent in a related engineering subject (e.g. civil, electrical, mechanical) and/or equivalent experience.
  • Clear understanding of the commercial requirements of delivering complex multidisciplinary design and build projects and an appreciation of delivery risk.
  • A full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

  • Experience of undertaking feasibility studies, options appraisal and concept design, and/or outline and detailed design for clients and design and build contractors.
  • Broad knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, Process).
  • Chartered or Incorporated with a relevant institution e.g. ICE, CIWEM or working towards it.
  • Temporary works experience.
