Due to a rapidly expanding workload in our London, UK office, Knight Piésold has a requirement for a civil/geotechnical engineer to join our mine waste team. We are looking for a high calibre self-motivated individual who will be adaptable and able to fit in comfortably within a small dynamic team. The role will involve international projects with expected periods of travel overseas.
The successful applicant will be qualified to a minimum degree level in Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, Geology or a related subject, preferably with a Masters level or above qualification in Geotechnical Engineering, Soil Mechanics or related subject. They will have a minimum of two years’ experience in either the design or operation of mine waste facilities and, under the supervision of senior engineers, be able to undertake embankment design and stability analyses, liner design, deposition design, produce storage facility layouts and undertake storage volume and rate of rise calculations.
Preference will be given to candidates who have proven capability in any of the following: Civils3D, Muck3D, Slope/W, Slide or similar earthworks modelling or slope stability analysis packages. Familiarity with numerical modelling software such as RS 2, FLAC or PLAXIS will be viewed favourably.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a young and expanding specialist technical team, with generous remuneration and profit share structure. Overseas applicants can be sponsored. Candidates must be fluent in English; a second language will be viewed favourably.
