Knight Piésold is hiring! We are seeking a Graduate or Junior Civil/Geotechnical Engineer to join our office in Portugal, with up to 5 years of experience.
Due to a rapidly expanding workload in our Portugal office, Knight Piésold has a requirement for a graduate or junior civil/geotechnical engineer to join our mine waste team. We are looking for a high-calibre, self-motivated individual who will be adaptable and able to fit in comfortably within a small, dynamic team. The role will involve international projects with expected short periods of travel to overseas mining and construction projects.
Under the supervision of senior engineers, the candidate will be expected to conduct ground investigations, interpret geotechnical test results, undertake stability and numerical analyses, 3D modelling of dams and other waste storage facilities, liner design, tailings deposition system design, produce storage facility layouts and on-site construction supervision.
Qualifications
The successful applicant will be qualified to a minimum Bologna Masters in Civil Engineering, or above, with a preferred specialisation in Geotechnics (other specialisations such as Structures, Hydraulics or Construction may also be considered). Previous experience is not required, but experience in earthworks construction, geotechnical or hydraulic structures design would be viewed favourably. Preference will be given to candidates who have proven capability in any of the following geometrical modelling software: Civil 3D or Muk3D. Familiarity with geotechnical software packages such GeoStudio, Rocsience, PLAXIS or Flac will be viewed favourably.
