About The Role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Client Accountant to join our Commercial Property Asset Management team in Central London. This role will support Partners and colleagues while leading on the day-to-day client accounting and reporting for a portfolio of central London commercial properties, alongside some additional stand-alone assets. You will act as the main point of contact for clients, surveyors, tenants, and internal teams, ensuring accurate financial reporting and a high standard of service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packs in line with client requirements.
- Present financial information at client meetings and respond to queries.
- Produce variance analysis with clear explanations.
- Raise rents and other ad-hoc charges.
- Maintain and update property database records.
- Assist with service charge budgeting, reconciliations, and cash reconciliations.
- Provide guidance and support to junior members of the team.
- Work closely with credit control, purchase ledger, and treasury teams.
- Liaise with surveyors, on-site staff, and specialist accounts teams across the UK.
- Confidently handle client and tenant queries.
Specific Areas of Focus
Client & Management Accounting
- Production of client statements and reports in line with KPIs.
- Tax reporting & HMRC submissions (CIS, VAT, NRL).
- Distribution of rental income and cash balance control.
- Database and lease administration.
Service Charge Accounting
- Service charge reviews and reconciliations.
- Control of void liabilities and caps.
- Preparation of cashflows and budget variance analysis.
- Liaising with third-party auditors.
Fees
- Administration of portfolio management fees.
Collaboration
- Work closely with client accountants, credit control, purchase ledger, treasury, surveyors, facilities management, and senior stakeholders.
- Provide supervision and support for junior team members.
About You
We are seeking an organised, driven, and energetic individual with:
- Strong accounting knowledge and experience in client/management accounting.
- Confidence in presenting financial information to clients.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality work within deadlines.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to working with colleagues and clients.
- Ideally, experience gained within a property agency or real estate environment.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience using MRI Horizon and Proactis (desirable).
Experience Required
- Experienced Client Accountant or Senior Client Accountant within a similar environment.
- Track record of delivering accurate financial reporting and excellent client service.
