Knight Controls Limited is looking for a full-time BMS Engineer to join our growing engineering team.
The role will involve working across a range of commercial buildings throughout London and the South East, carrying out service, maintenance, fault finding, remedial works, upgrades and project-related BMS works.
You will be responsible for attending customer sites, investigating faults, carrying out planned maintenance and completing repairs or modifications to existing BMS systems. The role will also involve supporting installation and commissioning works, carrying out controller and network checks, and ensuring systems are operating correctly following any works completed.
A good understanding of HVAC systems and building services is important, as much of the role will involve fault finding across both the controls and mechanical sides of a system. You should be comfortable investigating issues independently, identifying the likely cause of faults and clearly reporting any further works that may be required.
Experience with Trend, Tridium Niagara, Siemens, BACnet and Modbus would be beneficial, although experience with other BMS manufacturers and control systems will also be considered.
We are looking for someone who is confident working on live sites and dealing directly with customers, building managers, contractors and other engineers. Good communication is important, along with the ability to produce clear service reports explaining what has been found, what has been completed and any recommendations following the visit.
The position may include:
- Planned BMS maintenance visits
- Reactive fault finding and breakdowns
- BMS controller replacements and upgrades
- Sensor, actuator and peripheral replacements
- BMS software modifications and commissioning
- BACnet and Modbus network investigation
- Point-to-point testing
- Project and upgrade works
- Site surveys and technical investigations
Previous BMS experience would be preferred, although we would also consider an experienced electrical or controls engineer who is looking to develop further within the BMS industry.
The successful candidate should have strong fault-finding skills, a good electrical and controls understanding, and be comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
A full UK driving licence will be required due to the nature of the role and travel between customer sites.
- Knight Controls offers a competitive package based on experience, together with ongoing training and development and the opportunity to work across a wide variety of BMS and energy management systems.
