An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Sous Chef to join a Michelin-starred restaurant with rooms on the Cumbria/Scottish border. Operating at 1 Michelin Star and 3 AA Rosette level, this is a refined, tasting-menu-led kitchen focused on seasonality, precision and ingredient integrity. With a small, highly skilled brigade and a 30-cover dining room, the kitchen delivers a focused dining experience built around 4 and 8-course tasting menus, evolving throughout the seasons.

The Role
As Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to lead the kitchen day-to-day, maintaining standards while supporting the continued development of the operation. You will:
- Support and lead the brigade during prep and service
- Maintain and elevate food standards across all sections
- Assist with menu development and seasonal progression
- Take responsibility for ordering, stock control and GP targets
- Implement structure, systems and operational improvements
- Train, mentor and develop junior chefs
- Ensure consistency, organisation and cleanliness across the kitchen
This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring both technical strength and strong people management.
The Package
- £38,000–£40,000 base salary
