Located within the luxurious Queensberry Hotel, The Olive Tree proudly holds 1 Michelin Star, 4 AA Rosettes and is part of a Michelin Key luxury hotel, offering an exceptional opportunity to develop your career within one of the South West's most respected kitchens.

The Role
Working closely with the Head Chef and senior kitchen team, you'll play a key role in leading the pastry section and maintaining the exceptional standards expected of a Michelin-starred restaurant. Your responsibilities will include:
- Producing exceptional desserts, pastries, breads and petits fours
- Supporting the day-to-day running of the pastry section
- Assisting with seasonal menu development and creative dish creation
- Maintaining consistently outstanding quality and presentation
- Managing stock levels and minimising waste
- Ensuring the highest standards of food safety and hygiene
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the brigade
- Helping maintain a calm, organised and efficient pastry kitchen throughout service
The Package
- £37,000–£41,000 salary (dependent on experience)

- 48-hour contract
- Four-day week wherever possible

The Ideal Candidate
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience as a Pastry Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef or an exceptional Pastry Chef de Partie ready for the next step
- Experience within 3 AA Rosette, Michelin Guide or Michelin Star kitchens
- Excellent technical pastry skills with exceptional attention to detail
- A creative approach and passion for seasonal ingredients
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to perform under pressure
- A good understanding of food safety and kitchen management
- Excellent communication skills and a positive, professional attitude
- A genuine ambition to develop within one of the UK's leading pastry kitchens
Service Pattern
- Dinner: Tuesday–Sunday
- Lunch: Friday–Sunday
- Mondays closed (breakfast and room service only)
- Annual closure of two weeks each year
- One breakfast shift per week (6:45am–3:00pm) when a three-day weekend is not available
