Salary: Circa £50,000 per annum (final package dependent on experience)

Hours: Approx. 48 hours per week | Structured rota (4 on / 4 off)

We are beginning conversations with exceptional Head Chefs ahead of the opening of a new, high-end city-centre restaurant launching in Birmingham in the new year. This will be a produce-led, modern restaurant focused on outstanding ingredients, confident flavours, and visually striking plates — designed to sit comfortably among the UK’s most exciting contemporary dining destinations. The concept is food-first, design-conscious, and built for today’s dining audience: refined but relaxed service, strong visual identity, and a kitchen culture driven by pride, professionalism, and consistency.

The Role

  • Leading kitchen service across breakfast, lunch, and dinner
  • Designing seasonal, ingredient-led menus with strong visual appeal
  • Building, training, and motivating a high-performing brigade
  • Delivering consistency, pace, and quality at all times
  • Managing food costs, stock control, and supplier relationships
  • Upholding exemplary food safety and operational standards
  • Working closely with senior management throughout the opening phase

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to a chef who enjoys both creativity and structure in a high-profile city-centre setting.

About You

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef, or a Senior Sous ready for their first Head Chef role
  • Background in modern, quality-led restaurants or ambitious food concepts
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Confident with menu development, GP control, and kitchen systems
  • Passionate about produce, presentation, and detail
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment
  • Right to work in the UK
