We are currently looking for a Design Draughtsperson (12 month FTC).

About the role:

With responsibility for producing and maintaining technical drawings and Engineering department documentation, the role requires extensive use of CAD (Computer Aided Design) and PDM (Product Data Management) software to produce 3D models and assemblies, 2D technical drawings and also 3D animations and simulations for Virtual Reality Software. You will be integral to the delivery of Engineering designs for existing products, new product development and maintaining legacy design data. The role also focuses on detailed definition of designs for manufacturing and supporting other business functions with technical information.

Key duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Producing detailed, technical drawings for design solutions within the Engineering Design team.
  • Checking, editing and maintaining drawings and other technical documentation.
  • Preparing technical documents such as specifications, reports, manuals and procedures.
  • Supporting hardware development and testing.
  • Compiling technical documents and test specifications.
  • Interpreting technical specifications.
  • Liaising with suppliers and purchasing functions to provide the most up to date and accurate design information and technical details.
  • Providing support for the production, test and field engineering teams.
  • Supporting the sales team with bids and quotations.

Who we're looking for:

The ideal candidate will have studied a relevant Engineering subject, or have proven experience working within an Engineering or Design Team, and be trained in using CAD, PDM or Virtual Reality software packages including Solid Edge, AutoCAD, Inventor, Solid Works, Siemens NX, Pro Engineer or similar. Being qualified to HND level or higher in a relevant Engineering subject would be advantageous.
