We currently have an opportunity for a Quality Assurance Technician.

About the role:

The role holder will be the key support to ensuring that all document administration is maintained and adequate records of manufacture, assembly and material certification are readily available for both internal, customer and GQA acceptance trials (FAT).

Key duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage and maintain all documents, both physical and electronic, in a systematic and organised manner.
  • Numbering, registration, distribution and tracking of change control documentation such as Technical Query, Change Request etc.
  • Provide an auditable trail of incoming and outgoing documentation for projects using the company procedures and systems.
  • Quality check documents on formal aspects (i.e. correct revisioning, title, numbering).
  • Receive and issue documents in line with project timescales.
  • Reviewing/Completing and ensuring timely updating of company production data documentation.
  • Compilation / Collation of build pack documentation, including release certification for customer release.
  • Development of the Boxer release certificate in line with DE&S requirements for each vehicle.
  • Recording of traceability and completing of checks for accompanying certification to meet customer expectations.
  • Liaise with the customers Quality Assurance Representatives (GQA) as and when required.
  • May occasionally assist with physical inspection activities in assembly/PDI/FAT.
  • Involves cross-functional liaison with Procurement, Production, and Quality Assurance teams.

What we’re looking for:

Candidates must have the following essential qualifications and experience:

  • Degree, HND, HNC or significant experience in an engineering environment.
  • Full UK driving licence.

The following are desirable:

  • Experience of working within military contracts.
  • Experience using ERP or quality management systems.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001/AQAP quality management standards.
  • Familiarity with Certificates of Conformance, material certificates, or test reports.
  • Understanding of basic quality assurance principles and non-conformance reporting.

  • Committed to maintaining competence through Continuing Professional Development planning, preparation and reflection to ensure safety, quality and production and ensuring Continuing Professional Development goals are achieved.
  • Intervene and challenge poor practices and have confidence to channel feedback to the appropriate authorities to implement change.
  • Reflects on current and past performance and provide information and recommendations for continuous improvements in efficiency and effectiveness of working practices, and training and development requirements.
