About the role:
The primary purpose of this role is to carry out the inspection of both piece parts and assemblies using a Faro Measurement arm, and to operate and assist with final inspection using a CMM. Key duties include, but are not limited to:
- Perform mechanical inspection and alignment of precision assemblies on in-house as well as vendor produced mechanical components.
- Set-up and operate metrology equipment including conventional coordinate measuring machines and/or portable articulating arm coordinate measuring machines (e.g. Faro).
- Read and interpret elementary engineering drawings in order to be able to properly set-up parts/assemblies for CMM measurement.
- Utilise and apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing Standards.
- Communicate with others to gain a clear understanding of design intent for each project.
- Clearly and effectively report measurement results to stakeholders.
- Providing proactive support and judgement on product quality to production teams.
- Support and organise dimensional PPAP documentation to customer approval.
- Document and evaluate historical data to determine calibration intervals.
- Ensuring that the interests of the customer are represented.
- Clean and maintain a safe work area.
- To always comply with the Company’s Environmental, Health and Safety Policy.
- Support, comply and ensure complicity with Health & Safety regulations, the Company Handbook, Quality and Environmental standards, and all other Company policies and procedures.
What we’re looking for:
Candidates must have the following essential qualifications and experience:
- Degree, HND, HNC or significant experience in engineering environment.
- Demonstrated experience using FARO/CMM equipment with software packages Polyworks, Calypso, CAM2M10.
The following are desirable:
- Experience of working within heavy fabrication.
- Current driving licence.
