As an Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for maximizing the availability of plant equipment in a 24/7 industrial manufacturing environment. This will be achieved through safe and effective preventative and reactive maintenance on all operational assets. This role is part of the Engineering department working days.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Equipment Efficiencies: Maintaining the plant by performing planned preventative and predictive maintenance tasks and responding efficiently to plant breakdowns.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensuring compliance with the Company’s Health & Safety and Environmental policies to maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Continuous Improvement: Engaging actively in plant continuous improvement activities.

What we’d love for you to have:

  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings of various standards.
  • Full understanding of motor starters and control systems.
  • Good knowledge of motor variable speed technology (preferably ABB).
  • Understanding of relay logic systems.
  • Basic knowledge of Siemens S7 PLC systems, including hardware I/O and basic programming & troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with industrial networks (Profibus, Profinet, AS-I, Ethernet, Fibre optic).
  • Experience with instrumentation & weight control.
  • Ability to manage project tasks from conception to implementation.
  • Basic mechanical skills (preferable).
  • Knowledge of electrical and process safety standards (e.g., 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, PUWER regulations).
  • Understanding of HASWA principles and related regulations.
  • Awareness of Environment Agency / Natural Resources Wales requirements.
