The departure of one of our colleagues of the InnovationDepartment means we are now looking to recruit new JuniorTechnologistinSt Helens (UK)and reporting to the Blowing Wool Product Development Manager.

  • Can you maintain a clean and efficient laboratory environment while proactively planning equipment maintenance to minimize downtime?

As JuniorTechnologist, you\'d be supporting the Product Development Manager in conducting laboratory tests and providing technical expertise to central teams. You\'ll also gain in-depth knowledge of Knauf Insulation products and their testing processes to drive innovation and excellence.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Conduct laboratory testing and benchmarking programs to support product development and analyze insulation materials (blowing wool and cured products ranges) based on EN standards or customer requirements.
  • Assist with plant trials for new product developments and coordinate support projects across internal departments.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, manage stock, and ensure a clean, efficient lab environment through routine maintenance and housekeeping.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement programs, propose changes, and complete training projects to support business and department goals.
  • Collaborate with internal customers, hold stakeholder meetings, and provide technical insights to drive innovation and business success.

If you have experience in the following areas – this is an added advantage:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a science or engineering discipline is much appreciated (but not mandatory)
  • Previous experience in a similar position is an asset but this job is more of an entry-level position
  • Demonstrate an openness to innovation and technical creativity
  • Exhibit good data manipulation and data reporting skills
  • Ability to use statistical tools (such as Minitab)
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office tools
  • Physically fit and able to carry out installations which may include climbing ladders, setting up machinery and loading hoppers with up to 17.6kg bales
  • Languages : proficient in English, any other language proficiencyis nice to have
  • Willing to travel about 30% of your time(across Europe mainly)
