Do you have experience of leading Purchasing Teams in a fast-paced environment? Do you have the ability and skill to make strategic business decisions? Do you have a CI Approach to your work? As our Purchasing Manager, you will lead, oversee and engage in provision of a comprehensive, best value procurement service to Knauf Insulation client functions. You will take a hands-on approach to key procurement categories and projects, leading and completing all necessary actions to ensure security of supply and best value to the business. You will also build and maintain a high performing Purchasing team through direction, engagement and empowerment of colleagues whilst building strong relationships across the wider business and with external parties.

What you'll be doing:

  • Develop clear direction and purpose for Purchasing Team in order to provide context, motivation and appreciation.
  • Support ongoing development of Purchasing colleagues.
  • Provide or procure coaching and training as required.
  • Establish clear standards for Purchasing in terms of quality of outputs and behaviours, in line with The Knauf Values and CI Behaviours.
  • Act as a role model for The Knauf Values.
  • Clearly define, communicate and implement robust processes (covering all aspects of The Purchasing Cycle) designed to support quality and best business outcomes.
  • Take lead on high value regional tenders ensuring that all stakeholder engagement is planned and executed correctly, in line with a clear and well-communicated process.
  • Work quickly towards taking the lead role on regional Glass Cullet procurement in close alignment with the Regional SC Director and Central Purchasing.
  • Assess and identify regional procurement priorities based on key success factors including security of supply and best value.
  • Ensure that targets and objectives for Purchasing support progress and achievement of strategic business priorities.

What we'd love for you to have:

  • Experience of leading and developing Purchasing Teams within a fast-paced, continuous manufacturing operation.
  • Demonstrable evidence of working on high profile spend projects.
  • The ability and determination to make informed and strategic business decisions.
  • CIPS Membership with attainment or working towards MCIPS award.
  • An awareness of Lean Manufacturing and CI Techniques.
  • P-2-P & E-procurement experience.
  • Experienced and skilled in the use of SAP MM and MS Office.
