About You

  • Located in or near Rockhampton.
  • Prior experience within a manufacturing/building products/construction materials industry is preferred, however not essential.
  • Formal sales training highly regarded.
  • Intermediate/Advanced proficiency with managing data in spreadsheets and CRM systems.
  • Ability to work from the Rockhampton site full time – this is not a Work from Home Role.
  • Ability and willingness to travel.

About The Role

As a Business Development Manager, you will have the responsibility of contributing to the development of customer and segment plans, identifying new opportunities for value‑added products and services through account plan management, and managing and maintaining existing customers. You will identify opportunities for increasing sales to the existing customer base and analyse trends and future market needs.

Some Tasks As Part Of This Role Include

  • Undertake sales activities within segment/region to achieve budgeted targets and take corrective action as required.
  • Convert market leads on building approvals into profitable sales to Knauf.
  • Monitor selling expenses and pricing to ensure profitability targets are achieved.
  • Manage and maintain existing customers; identify opportunities for increasing sales to the existing customer base.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to develop expertise and capability through personal development training, technical training and project experience.
  • Maintain knowledge of competitor activity and product and report market trends and changes to the direct manager.
  • Resolve complaints in a timely manner and institute changes to reduce or eliminate reoccurrence.
