We are seeking a Part‑Time / Freelance Garment & Quality Technologist to support our Senior Technical Designer.

This role is ideal for an experienced Technologist who enjoys a hands‑on approach, has strong knowledge of tailoring construction, and is confident working independently across development and production stages. The role will involve close collaboration with the design and production teams, interfacing with suppliers, and ensuring products meet our high technical and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Development & Sample Management

  • Assist in preparing and maintaining technical packs, specs, and measurement charts for all styles.
  • Measure, review, and comment on proto, fit, and pre‑production samples, ensuring consistency with approved specs.
  • Support fittings by taking accurate measurements, fit notes, photos, and updating documents accordingly.
  • Maintain product records and ensure development progress is accurately tracked.

Quality Control

  • Conduct QC checks on samples and bulk garments (in‑house, at factory, or warehouse).
  • Document and communicate any issues regarding fit, construction, or finishing to the relevant teams.
  • Support the Senior Technical Designer in signing off gold seal samples and tracking corrective actions with suppliers.
  • Liaise with factories and suppliers regarding sample progress, fit comments, and technical clarifications.
  • Support the review of production and sampling timelines to ensure on‑time delivery.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree or diploma in Garment Technology or Fashion Production (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a technical or quality role within luxury fashion.
  • Strong technical knowledge of tailoring and garment construction.
  • Experience in tailoring or soft product categories is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Adobe Illustrator, and familiarity with CLO 3D, Gerber, or Lectra is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities effectively and work independently on a flexible schedule.

Availability

  • Part‑time / freelance basis (approx. 3 days per week, depending on seasonal workload).
  • Must be available for occasional in‑person fittings, QC checks, or supplier meetings at the Savile Row office.
  • Office Presence Required.

Why Join Us

  • Opportunity to work with a luxury Savile Row brand across tailoring development.
  • Collaborative environment working closely with senior technical and design teams.
  • Exposure to both Ready‑to‑Wear and Made‑to‑Measure development processes.
  • Flexibility to balance freelance work with other professional commitments.
