We are seeking a highly motivated and flexible Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our growing MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) supplies business based in Trafford Park, Manchester. This is a varied and hands-on role combining on-site maintenance, breakdown response, and project-based engineering work. The position involves both working at our main facility and travelling to customer sites across the region to support their operational needs.
- Carry out reactive and planned maintenance on a wide range of industrial equipment and machinery.
- Respond to breakdowns at customer sites, diagnose faults, and implement effective repairs.
- Support and deliver installation and project work for customers, including upgrades and system improvements.
- Perform electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs.
- Work closely with customers to ensure minimal downtime and high service levels.
- Provide technical support and advice to customers on MRO products and services.
- Maintain accurate service reports, documentation, and records of work completed.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health & safety standards and company procedures.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support product supply and engineering solutions.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (electrical and mechanical).
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across a range of industrial systems.
- Experience working in manufacturing, production, or industrial environments.
- Good knowledge of:
- Electrical systems (motors, drives, controls, PLC basics preferred).
- Mechanical systems (gearboxes, bearings, hydraulics, pneumatics).
- Ability to work independently and manage workload across multiple sites.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence (essential for site travel).
- Desirable (but not essential): Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g. NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC/HND).
- Experience within an MRO, industrial supply, or service environment.
- Familiarity with customer-facing engineering or field service roles.
- PLC fault finding/programming exposure.
