About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading business in the plant hire and equipment rental sector for an experiencedWorkshop Fitter to join their team inBristol.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled mechanical engineer or fitter who enjoys maintaining and repairing heavy plant and construction equipment in a busy workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain, and repair a range of plant and construction equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults efficiently.
- Carry out routine inspections, servicing, and preventative maintenance.
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales.
- Maintain accurate service and repair records.
- Adhere to all health and safety procedures.
- Support colleagues and contribute to the smooth running of the workshop.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Workshop Fitter, Plant Fitter, HGV Technician, Agricultural Engineer, or similar.
- Strong mechanical knowledge, with experience working on plant or heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems is desirable.
- Ability to diagnose faults and work independently.
- Full UK driving licence preferred.
- A proactive attitude and strong problem-solving skills.
