We are recruiting on behalf of a leading business within the plant hire and equipment rental industry for an experienced Workshop Engineer to join their team in Tamworth.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer who enjoys diagnosing, servicing, and repairing heavy plant and construction equipment in a modern workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of plant and construction equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults.
- Complete preventative maintenance inspections to minimise equipment downtime.
- Ensure all repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
- Maintain accurate service records and job documentation.
- Follow all health and safety procedures within the workshop.
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure equipment is prepared and available for hire.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Workshop Engineer, Plant Engineer, Workshop Fitter, Heavy Plant Technician, Agricultural Engineer, or HGV Technician.
- Strong mechanical and fault-finding skills.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence is desirable.
- A proactive attitude and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
