We are working with a well-established heavy equipment dealer to recruit an experienced Field Service Engineer covering Southwest England. This role will focus heavily on crushers and screeners, therefore previous experience working on crushing and screening equipment is essential. The ideal candidate will be based between Swansea and Swindon, with easy access to the M4 corridor.

The Role

You will be responsible for carrying out service, maintenance and breakdown repairs across a range of heavy plant and construction equipment, predominantly within the crushing and screening sector. The position is field-based and will involve attending customer sites across the region, diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs and ensuring machinery downtime is kept to a minimum.

Responsibilities

  • Routine servicing and maintenance on heavy plant equipment
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
  • Breakdown attendance and emergency repairs
  • Carrying out warranty and damage repairs
  • Completing clear and accurate job reports via engineer iPad
  • Managing workload efficiently to ensure maximum recovery and customer satisfaction
  • Maintaining company vehicle and reporting any defects
  • Providing a professional and customer-focused service at all times

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer within the plant industry
  • Essential experience working on crushers and screeners
  • NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
  • Experience using diagnostic software and engine diagnostics
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • CSCS card preferred but not essential
  • Full UK driving licence required
  • Willingness to travel overseas for manufacturer training when required
